Technical Director - Laboratory, Production & Analytics (m/f/d)
for our site Bodenheim near Mainz
NEOCHEMA produces and supplies reference materials for organic residue analysis.Family-run for more than 35 years, certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 and accredited to DIN EN ISO 17034, the company has grown continuously and organically. To sustain this growth and meet future market challenges, NEOCHEMA is adapting its organisational structure. This creates a new appointment to the position of Technical Director – Laboratory, Production & Analytics. Onboarding will be supported by the current Technical Director, who will take on a new management role within the company.
Responsibilities
As Technical Director – Laboratory, Production & Analytics you bring production and analytics into alignment. You also take on operational leadership of our production team. Together you make sure that our customers requirements are met in line with the NEOCHEMA principles of quality, delivery speed and flexibility. In doing so, you work closely with the management team as an equal partner.
The role covers in particular:

Leadership and development: leading and developing a team of around ten people, including the Head of Analytics

Production management: day-to-day management of the production team, capacity planning, process optimisation and responsibility for workflows, documentation and structures

Strategic leadership of analytics: closely interlocking production an analytics in cooperation with the Head of Analytics

Responsibility for core processes: ensuring a reliable production chain that complies with the relevant standards - from production planning and manufacturing through to shipping - always focused on improving quality, reproducibility, efficiency and safety

DIN EN ISO 17034 - certified reference materials: responsibility from development through to market readiness, plus standard-compliant production and release - supporting the extension of our scope of accreditation together with our team of specialists

Occupational safety, environmental protection & quality management: ensuring compliance with legal and internal requirements, including risk assessments, hazardous substance management, operating instructions, staff training, proper disposal and support during assessments and audits
Profile
What you bring:
-
A completed degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a comparable qualification
-
Relevant professional experience in organic trace analysis (GC-MS, LC-MS and LC-MS/MS)

Several years of leadership experience
Experience in an accredited environment to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 or DIN EN ISO 17034
Knowledge of occupational safety and of hazardous substances and environmental law
Very good German (C1 or above) and good English
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
An advantage: experience in producing certified reference materials and with accreditation procedures
